I’m really lucky to have two stores in town that sell locally made items, and the vast majority of them are handmade. Want to see a great representation of our Pumpkinfest in photo? Check out [Galen's amazing photo](http://www.kintyre-media.com/133) of the fireworks behind the pumpkin tower. Just think, those pumpkins are only a small part of the sum total that get brought, and we generally have about 4 towers like that (plus more on scaffolding).

I just read here that the Mount Washington Observatory recorded the highest known gust of wind in the world in April of 1934. The winds pushed up into the 220 MPH range, and peaked at 231 MPH. That’s fricken fast!
