Brush off the cobwebs

Mom just left after helping me for several hours to sort through some old stuff. We’re moving in a month, so she offered to come up and help me go through what to keep, toss, or donate. It was wierd going through some of the stuff I’d had since high school, but a lot easier today than it would have been the last move (4 or so years ago). I kept the stuff I still value or might still use, and sloughed most of the rest.
It’s funny because Mom was saying she thought I had more I’d need to go through. She felt like we didn’t get much done, but I think this was coming from her perspective from when she last moved. She’s had a longer lifetime to accumulate stuff. There is definite value in going through and ridding of some of the old stuff, ’cause it makes things feel much more free and uncluttered.
Itchin’ to read

I’m really itching to read a good history book about some fiber craft. I had a bit of fill by reading the most recent issue of Wild Fibers, which was a good substitute for No Idle Hands which I’ve glanced at but never made the decision to purchase every time I step into The Toadstool in town. I’ve been wanting to buy it each time, but made a different excuse not to each time. The one time I distinctly decide to buy something, it’s no longer there. Fortunately for my bank account, two magazines are cheaper than a history book.

Have you seen the fall leaves yet? I have, in several places. While I am itching for the colder weather so I can bring out my wools, I don’t know if I’m ready for it to start just yet.

So the cuts on my hand haven’t hurt much, and there’s not much itching either. I’m not wrapping it quite as thoroughly, and I can type with 9 fingers instead of 6 now
Oh, and much to Corey’s chagrin (’cause he’s had to cook and do dishes) I’ve been able to knit for a couple of days. It’s kind of awkward, but you can’t stop someone who’s obsessed.
Here you go Bridget (don’t click more if you’re easily grossed). (more…)

Well, I won’t be knitting for a bit.

For those wondering, I tried to catch a falling glass pitcher as it hit a counter. To my credit, I didn’t think it was glass.

Comment: Yeah, I have a hard time getting rid of stuff like stuffed animals that I’ve had forever.
