So the cuts on my hand haven’t hurt much, and there’s not much itching either. I’m not wrapping it quite as thoroughly, and I can type with 9 fingers instead of 6 now
Oh, and much to Corey’s chagrin (’cause he’s had to cook and do dishes) I’ve been able to knit for a couple of days. It’s kind of awkward, but you can’t stop someone who’s obsessed.
Here you go Bridget (don’t click more if you’re easily grossed). (more…)
I just got an e-mail that was supposedly from my bank asking its users to fill in some information to increase security for online banking. I wasn’t surprised about this as they’ve done it in the past. However, the e-mail provided a link to visit a website to update that information. I am always suspicious of e-mails that supposedly come from an account I have involving money, and even more suspicious when they ask me to click on a link.
I think that so many people don’t know this, but you should never, ever, ever, ever click on a link in an e-mail to visit a website and log into your account from there. I know someone who was fooled by one of those e-mails with their Paypal account, and some of their money was stolen. If you ever get an e-mail that seems legit, go to your web browser and type the web address to log into your account. You’ll probably see that the e-mail was lying, and you should get rid of it immediately.
I’m sure though that most of you who read my blog already know this. It’s just amazing how many people don’t know this, and it’s so easy to avoid.
Swimming that is. I’ve decided this year we are going to the local lake much more often than we did last year. We found this really great place to swim last year, and swimming is really the only exercise I will happily do for fun. I love it. Now I just need to get my new bathing suit and we can go every weekend. We went today, and I realize that I am so out of shape, even for an out of shape person. Here’s to trimming up a bit!
Since we’ve been able to more easily go grocery shopping when we bought the car, Corey and me have made a conscious decision to pay attention to where the meat we buy has come from. I’m sure you’re familiar with some of the stories about industrialized meat production, as well as some of the crap they put in the animals (can you say rBGH?). Since we haven’t had a ton of money to spend each month, we’ve been really good about economizing our food buying. Since the local more natural meat we like to buy is more expensive, we end up buying less than we might otherwise prefer.
I just watched this video that has me pretty convinced that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to reduce our meat consumption even more. A year or more ago we had some form of meat at every meal. Lately it’s about every 1 out of 3 days (sometimes more).
