New Job!
May 18, 2008 - 9:17 am PDT
OK, so I didn’t mention leaving my previous job, but my last day was the day before our trip to Louisiana. There was some conflict that I was frustrated at dealing with, and while it had been resolved I realized that it was time for me to go. Actually, it had been time for me to go for a long time, and that just made me get off my butt and deal with the insecurity of finding a new job. What made it really difficult was that the first of my two weeks notice I gave I was still dealing with the b12 problem. There was no way I could get out and find a new job. You can imagine my stress after we got back from Louisiana not having a job and having no clue where I’d get it.
It was kind of wierd, but it was a dream that prompted me to look specifically for the job I did eventually get. There is this wonderful yarn store in Northampton called Webs, and I dreamt that I drove there and asked if they were hiring. That day I decided it wasn’t a bad idea to check it out, so I went to their website to see if they might have job postings of openings (they did!).
I’m working in customer service, which involves answering phones and e-mails, notifying customers of back-orders and sold out items, and a few other officey type things. When I went in for the interview, it was the first time that I felt totally confident that I was perfectly right for the job. I’ve done all this before: customer service, answering phones and taking orders, and I’m a knitter/spinner/crafter.
And you know the best part of the job? I work with knitters! They’re all over the place, and it’s not uncommon to see people wearing cool handknits. Nearly everyone there is nice, I like the people I work with, and I think I could really stay there for a while.

May 18th, 2008 @ 10:18 am PDTCongratulations, I’m so jealous! It sounds like a perfect job for you. No one should have to put up with a stressful work environment, it will just drain you even if the vitamin deficiency doesn’t! I’m happy for you.
