LibriVox New Releases Podcast

July 25, 2007 - 3:59 pm EST

Some volunteers over at LibriVox (specifically Alan aka Cloud Mountain) have started a podcast that is focused more outward than the LibriVox Community Podcast. The idea for this podcast is to discuss some of the new audiobooks that have been released, and allow people to promote these new books. I have listened to one of them, and it features some clips of the audiobook recordings, a list of all books cataloged since the last podcast, and a little discussion about some of the books. I think the goal of this podcast was to provide something more interesting for the LibriVox consumer, rather than the volunteer which is what the community podcast is for.

I didn’t know how else to send this but I have listened to your “Heart of Darkness” at least 10 and love it!!! At first I was a little skeptical but I listen to it when I am walking to school, when I am working in lab, or just running to the store or to the bars on the weekend. Just thought you should know.

In this Days i will finish the work for my new Music-record, i wanted to spell sentences from “The rime of the ancient mariner” to the music of one of my pieces. Through librivox i came to Your record, and because of my own words imperfaction, i tried to put Your beautiful Vocals into it. – And this really sounds so good, that now i will question, if i am permitted to use it. I left the three rhymes almost unchanged (just with little reverb on it, and well positioned in the piece). The Story of the CD is the Search for the “Franklin-Expedition” in the middle of the 19th Centaury in the north of Canada. My works are till now just for Hobby, some placed into internet. If You dont´t like that i include it, then i won´t do so.
