The Big Day

The big day is Monday…maybe. If I haven’t gone into labor by Monday, and if things aren’t crazy at labor and delivery in the hospital, they’re going to induce labor on Monday. I gotta say I’m relieved, despite my feelings about it in the beginning. It helps that the hospital I’ll be delivering at takes a slow and steady approach to induction that focuses more on nudging my body into doing what it should already know how to do, rather than try to push it quickly. This means that despite being induced on Monday, we may not have the baby for days afterward. I spoke to someone I know that had her baby at the same hospital, and she was induced only to have her baby 4 days after they started. It means lots of time at the hospital, but it also means I’ll be working towards a goal rather than waiting and going bonkers.
We should have a new baby LeMoine by the end of next week! However, I’m still hoping things will get rolling along on their own before then. Tonight perhaps?

June 6th, 2009 @ 10:15 am UTCHave you tried caster oil? I’ve heard wonders about that, though I never tried it myself. My Grandma did it with my uncle though and it worked fast. Good luck whatever happens!
